I've been to a number of destinations here in the Philippines but I admit, it's been more than a decade since I've explored my home town, Roxas City. I am now based in Iloilo City but I still get to visit home every month. I don't go out that often though. So when my friends planned for a lunch at Cadimahan River Tour, I didn't let the chance pass.
The River Tour
Cadimahan River Tour is the actual name of the place located at Sitio Lawis, Baybay, Roxas City. The word, "tour", sounds weird for a restaurant name. But part of the services that it offers is a river tour which is probably how it got its name. The river tour can be done by riding a motorized boat, paddled boat, or the floating restaurant.
The Floating Restaurant
The concept is quite similar in Bohol's Floating Restaurants at Loboc River. But instead of paying a per-person rate for the river tour and buffet meal, you have to rent the whole cottage for PhP1500 per 2 hours. Meals are not included on that rate. So I guess this is only ideal for groups or maybe for the "rich". lol
FOOD
Fish at Cadimahan River Tour are guaranteed fresh before being cooked in any way you want. Their foods are deliciously prepared and priced reasonably. Aside from fish, they also have oyster, chicken, and pork barbecue on their menu.
Service Crew
The crew are friendly and very considerate. They will help you with your needs to make your stay very satisfying.Transportation
There is no public vehicle that goes inside Cadimahan River Tour. If you don't have your own vehicle, you will have to walk from the main road which is really far. You might as well pre-arrange your trip with the tricycle driver. Ask him if he will drop you off inside Cadimahan River Tour and fetch you again at a specific time. Make sure that you agree on the fare too.

VERDICT
The place is very relaxing and has a scenic view of the river - perfect for nature lovers. After enjoying a sumptuous lunch, you'd feel like sleeping because of the serene water and the fresh air. Though it could also be a great time for some boating activity depending on the level of the heat of the sun. With the food being delicious and not so expensive, Cadimahan River Tour is a great place to hangout if you want to escape from the busy city life.
